24 Hours in Split

As soon as you arrive in Split, you can feel the good atmosphere that hangs around this city. With so
many things to see and so many things to do, we thought it might be handy to have an example of
how to spend 24 hours in Split.
Let’s say you wake up in your comfy bed at Booze & Snooze or at Fiesta Siesta, if you are up for a nice
active start to your day, the best thing to do would be to take a walk in the park Marjan. The park
gives you a completely different vibe than the city. The highest peak of the park is called Telegrin and
it’s 178 meters high. You will have to climb 314 steps to reach this point but at least you can skip the
gym for that day! At the top of the hill, you will find the best sight of the old town and the harbour.
Another option is to walk around the park which will bring you some really scenic sights as well.
Marjan is actually bigger than Central Park in New York so if you walk around it, you definitely get
bragging rights. If you walk at a decent pace, the walk around Marjan will take you about 1 hour and
45 minutes.
Of course, after this walk, you will be all ready for some relaxation. With bakeries at every corner, we
would recommend getting some nice pastries and heading off to the beach. As Split is directly
located on the coast, you can walk either way down the water and you will continue to run into
beaches. If you go from the city centre towards the train station and continue in that direction you
will get to the sandy beaches. Bačvice is a popular beach which is 15 minute walk. It might get very
busy in the summer but luckily Split does not lack beaches. Down the same direction, you can find
Ovčice which is another sandy beach to try out! Now if you are not a fan of sandy beaches like me, go
the other direction past the harbour. This way you will find gorgeous pebbly beaches. The first beach
is Obojena beach which is about a 20-minute walk from the city centre. Or... you can download
the app nextbike which will give you access to bikes all over the city which you can rent and take to
the beach, the first 30 minutes are free. Another amazing beach is Kašjuni beach which will give you real island vibes. It might be best to take an Uber here as it is an 45 minute walk. So it might be nice to spend some hours in your
afternoon here. Bring some beers and some snacks and you will get back all relaxed with a nice tan
going (or a sunburn so bring sunscreen too!!)
After you’ve freshened up at the hostel, it would be a good time to go for dinner. If you want to have
dinner on the “Riva”, we would definitely recommend having dinner at Brasserie on 7. The menu is
very diverse and their dishes are so tasty. Also if you stay with us, you get 20% off on your
entire meal. (who doesn't love discount)
So now you’ve had your activity, your relaxing at the beach and a good dinner at B7. Of course now
it’s time for the alcohol. The place to be is Charlie’s Bar. With great staff, 1L cocktail buckets and
great beers, you will be sure to have a great night out. The bar offers a great vibe which will be sure
to give you a perfect night. (Charlie’s closes at 12:00 due to COVID restrictions but will hopefully go back to normal hours soon)
After Charlie's, you can continue your night at Matejuska (aka the pier). A lot of people go
here to drink after the bars closes! Local people also go here to drink and a lot of Erasmus people. You
will definitely find people to talk to you. Usually, there is someone who brings a speaker
so there’s going to be good people and good vibes!

This would be a perfect day in Split where you can experience the fun, exciting side of Split to its full
potential.

We were inspired by our travelling experiences in Croatia, it's not surprising then that our motto is ‘’we serve good vibes on tap’’ as who knows more about bringing the vibes than the Aussies!! If you don't believe me come see for yourself..
